Tour Tips

Here’s some information about Gray Line Tours to help with your booking.

Prices Displayed

All prices shown on our tour description pages are indicative, based on our standard adult price. If you decide to book a tour, you will notice that we have different rates for children and infants. Our prices are also subject to special price promotions – if applicable, the details of these are explained on our tour pages under the indicative price.

One of the great things about booking with Gray Line is that a discount applies to any group booking of 4 people or more, regardless of age.  This applies to all tours, but only for a single transaction – so remember to use our Favourites option if you want to book multiple people on multiple tours.

Tours that include accommodation

Prices for these tours are calculated on a twin-share basis. Passengers travelling on their own are required to pay a single room surcharge on all overnight tours.

Some tours have ‘Tourist’ (standard) and ‘Quality / Deluxe’ accommodation options.  If you prefer to relax in style, make sure you book the ‘Quality / Deluxe’ accommodation option!

Hotel Pick up / drop off points

When you book a tour with us, you’ll be asked to stipulate your pick up time and location. This information is required in order to secure your place on the Tour.  However, if you do need to change this information in the future, you can contact us or call one of our representatives to update your booking up to 48 hours prior to the tour departure time.

Meals

Some tours have the option to include the provided lunch. If you don’t choose this option, then you will need to provide or purchase your own lunch at one of our highlighted locations. For tours where lunch is provided, children’s meals are smaller than adults. When larger meals are requested, there will be an additional charge. This is payable to the restaurant by the parent or guardian.

Vegetarian meals may be requested at the time of booking.

All overnight tours (except for Rotorua day one) meals are by your own arrangements and are not included in the tour price.

Dress suggestions

Casual clothing and comfortable footwear are suggested on all tours. We suggest swimming attire be packed on all overnight tours to the Bay of Islands during summer and Rotorua all year round.

Warm clothing and a shower-proof jacket should be considered all year round for Queenstown and Milford, and for the following destinations between April and October: Bay of Islands, Auckland, Waitomo and Rotorua.
